Tana's 100 Questions

Part 1: The Basics

  1. What is your full name?

    • Tana Shum
  2. Where and when were you born?

    • Born in Riverford, Andoran on the 10th day of Sarenith in the year 4634.
  3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

    • My father, Feclol, and mother, Essihu, were servants all their lives and had both cruel and kind masters. The truly wicked ones get what they deserved such as poverty, woe, and death of their loved one. But the ones who showed kindness, they were the ones who lived forever, who cherished all that they had and gave to the poor. Seeing such acts of love and compassion nurtured their hearts and led them to become wonderful and accepting parents.
  4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

    • I have one younger brother named Thur. Thur was a real go getter like me, he worked hard all his life and always put his best foot forward. But I couldn’t help but feel a slight twinge of jealousy within his heart aimed at my magickal gifts. My parents would sneak me books and things to write with to hone my skills—but not Thur. He had the typical skill of holding a blade. He was quick and agile but my parents were so pleased to have an Ifrit in the family. But through it all, Thur still loved me and I still love him.
  5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.

    • I am currently on my own, traveling the world and learning everything I can. A true nomad.
  6. What is your occupation?

    • Before I traveled, I was a servant to a kind old wizard who taught me a few spells. Now I’m an adventurer.
  7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

    • I am 6ft exactly, 160lbs. I come from a long line of Elves but I identify as an Ifrit. Ifrits are few and far between, the last one in our line being born 500 years ago. My eyes are a fiery red with maroon colored hair. I usually wearing anything with tones of red. On my travels I’ve acquired some formal looking red clothing than makes me appear more well off than I am. I’ve also been said to be devilishly handsome and a smooth talker.
  8. To which social class do you belong?

    • I am lower class.
  9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

    • None that I am aware of.
  10. Are you right- or left-handed?

    • I am left-handed.
  11. What does your voice sound like?

    • I try to keep it soft and warm.
  12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

    • “For fuck’s sake.”
  13. What do you have in your pockets?

    • Spell components, a letter from my parents, and a family drawing.
  14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

    • I bite my nails in times of stress (not when fighting however). Oh, also if someone betrays me they’re dead to me and if my honor or sense of self is challenged I will fight said person to the death or until they apologize.


Part 2: Growing Up

  1. How would you describe your childhood in general?

    • Tough but rewarding.
  2. What is your earliest memory?

    • Hugging my mother.
  3. How much schooling have you had?

    • Only what my kind masters and parents could teach me.
  4. Did you enjoy school?

    • Yes, every small second of it.
  5. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?

    • My parents and masters, but also from my recent travels.
  6. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.

    • On master in particular, Vosso Uthox. He was an old wizard who needed help around his home with cleaning and cooking. It was there that I learned to properly speak and write Common. He told me that language, all language, must never be possessed by one race or one nation, but by all living creatures. When we build walls between us, that is when the world is truly lost and we as denizens of this world have failed.
  7. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?

    • The four of us got along very well, we all loved each other.
  8. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

    • I wanted to be anything but a servant, anything but to be looked down upon.
  9. As a child, what were your favorite activities?

    • Playing with my mother, father, and Thur.
  10. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?

    • I was, and still am, a hard worker, always getting work done quickly but correctly.
  11. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?

    • Besides my family, I had only one friend: Kici. She was amazing! We told each other everything, no matter how hard it was to say. She’s my person.
  12. When and with whom was your first kiss?

    • An Dwarven boy named Cakel, it happened about 30 years ago.
  13. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?

    • I am not a virgin and it was again with Cakel.
  14. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

    • As a young teen, I started having hazing dreams that seemed like pictures of an incomplete story. Night after night, they would return, never leaving my mind until morning. However, with each passing night, my dreams grew with clarity until I finally was able to see what the dream was of: me. It was me, on a grand adventure with four other creatures, a cat-person, a lizard-person, a human, and my cousin who is an adopted Goblin. After that night is when I was able to cast spells and become a sorcerer.


Part 3: Past Influences

    • Becoming a sorcerer.
  2. Who has had the most influence on you?

    • Vosso Uthox
  3. What do you consider your greatest achievement?

    • Leaving Riverford.
  4. What is your greatest regret?

    • I have none so far.
  5. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

    • I stole bread for my starving family.
  6. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

    • I was never caught, so no.
  7. When was the time you were the most frightened?

    • When I thought my family would die.
  8. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

    • I once
  9. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

    • That I was bullied so relentlessly. It was awful.
  10. What is your best memory?

    • Family dinners.

    • Stealing.

    • Optimistic.

    • Losing my family forever.

    • I follow Sarenrae.

    • We are all equal.

    • It’s good and I’ll have it with anyone.
  6. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?

    • If my family or friends are in trouble, I will kill.
  7. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?

    • Rape or kill without just cause.
  8. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

    • Yes.
  9. What do you believe makes a successful life?

    • Being happy.

    • I’m fairly honest.

    • None that I would let get in my way.

    • Kill a child. It’s sensless.

    • My family and friends.


Part 5: Relationships With Others

  1. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

    • Respect is something that I always give people, unless they show disrespect. Then all bets are off.
  2. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

    • My mother, father, and brother. They’re my world.
  3. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

    • My father for all that he’s been through, yet he still smiles.
  4. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.

    • Besides my family, I have one best friend, Kici, an Elvin servant I grew up with. Her and I are as close as friends can be, we know everything about each other. She’s tall and beautiful and a really good fighter.
  5. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.

    • No I don’t.
  6. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.

    • A few times here and there but they always end up leaving for some reason or another.
  7. What do you look for in a potential lover?

    • A zest for life and learning, kindness and loyalty.
  8. How close are you to your family?

    • I would do anything for family.
  9. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?

    • No, not yet.
  10. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?

    • Kici or my family.
  11. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?

    • Kici and my family, they have and will always have my back.

    • Kici and my family.

    • People who disrespect servants or low-class. Have they no shame?

    • I try to avoid conflict but sometimes the truth must come out.
  15. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

    • If I do, I try to hear everyone’s opinions.
  16. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?

    • Sometimes, it can be fruitful but very challenging.
  17. Do you care what others think of you?

    • Not in particular.


Part 6: Likes And Dislikes

  1. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?

    • I love reading about far off places and ancient worlds.
  2. What is your most treasured possession?

    • An apple seed. One day when I was a child, I was so hungry that I collapsed and crawled to an ally to avoid being tramped. It was a rough time for my family with my brother being born. I went out to do some street dancing and singing to get some coin but it was to no avail. When I thought I would die, I looked up and saw a small Elvin girl holding out half an apple. It was Kici. I kept the seed with me ever since.
  3. What is your favorite color?

    • Reds or black, they go well with my skin tone.
  4. What is your favorite food?

    • Any kind of stew.
  5. What, if anything, do you like to read?

    • Adventure novels.
  6. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?

    • The theatre is wonderful and music is fantastic, but also reading.
  7. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs? If so, why? Do you want to quit?

    • I drink on occasion, not to heavily.
  8. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?

    • On Starday nights I like to sit and read a new book.
  9. What makes you laugh?

    • Embarrassing stories.
  10. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?

    • Murder for no reason other than to murder.
  11. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?

    • I’d read!
  12. How do you deal with stress?

    • I bite my nails sometimes.

    • I love having plans, but I can go with the flow if need be.

    • Unorganized books and maps.

    • Wake up, brish my teeth, eat breakfast, start work (whatever that may be that day), come home, eat dinner, and sleep. I feel fine if something else happens like I go out to a bar or go to a friend’s for dinner.
  2. What is your greatest strength as a person?

    • My loyalty to a cause.
  3. What is your greatest weakness?

    • My loyalty to my family.
  4. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

    • My skin color. It’s always set me apart.

    • A happy medium.

    • Organized.

    • I like how I care so much about my family and friends, how I’d die for them in a heartbeat.

    • I want to gain riches to send to my family, not to make them super rich, but just to put them to middle-class status, to give them a life they’ve always dreamed of.
  10. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?

    • To be well known and well liked.
  11. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

    • Hopefully with someone I love and starting a family.
  12. If you could choose, how would you want to die?

    • Peacefully, surrounded by family.
